Why does Pinterest show my original product description and price instead of my AI-edited text?

Pinterest may add product details and descriptions from your Shopify page to a pin, even when Pin Generator submitted your AI-edited description.

If a Pinterest pin linked to your Shopify product shows the original product description or price, Pinterest may be displaying information it added from the product page. Your AI-edited description may still be saved on the pin and visible in Pin Generator’s Pin History.

Check the description Pin Generator submitted

  1. Open Pin History in Pin Generator and find the pin.
  2. Check the description saved with that pin.
  3. In Pinterest, open the pin and choose Edit to check the description field. Pinterest may show the submitted AI text there even if the pin’s public display shows other product details.

Why Pinterest adds product details

Pinterest can use Rich Pins to pull information such as a product’s price, rating, and description from its linked product page. This information comes from your store page, not from the description Pin Generator submitted. A Pinterest catalog or the Pinterest channel in Shopify may also send product information.

Stop Pinterest from pulling product information

To prevent the product page itself from providing Rich Pin details, ask your Shopify theme administrator or developer to add this tag to the theme header or product template:

<meta name="pinterest-rich-pin" content="false" />

If you also use a Pinterest catalog or the Pinterest channel in Shopify, pausing the catalog can stop it from acting as another source of product details. The tag addresses information pulled from the product page.

If the description still appears incorrect after checking Pin History and Pinterest’s edit box, open a support ticket at pingenerator.com/support.
